The Bigi winery began life in a former Franciscan monastery, the ancient La Trinità in Orvieto, which had been confiscated by the Italian government in 1870. Inspired by the potential offered by its territory, over the years Bigi has reached truly enviable results.Thanks to its capable winemakers and the broad availability of vineyards, the company has diversified its product range, with some interesting monovarietal and blended reds based on Umbria’s Sangiovese grapes, standing alongside the greatest whites like Orvieto Classico, Grechetto and Est!Est!!Est!!!

Nestled between the hillside villages of Loreto Aprutino and Picciano in the province of Pescara, Colle Corviano is an award-winning 15 hectare estate that is obsessively committed to improving the reputation of Abruzzo via single block winemaking. Each block is vinified separately and traced throughout the production process allowing Chief Winemaker, Paolo Benassi (previously of Castello Banfi) to create wines with distinct terroir driven character.

Situated in Lapio city, near Avellino, Tenuta Scuotto is a family-run winery who as Wine Spectator has recognised is pushing the boundaries of Fiano. Tenuta Scuotto strives to produce wines that fully express the characteristics of the area in which they are born at the same time as conveying their unique identity. They use an integrated approach to farming and work with reduced yields, producing highly complex and concentrated wines as a result.

A regular Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri winner, Re Manfredi is one of the most respected producers in Basilicata. Established in 1998 in the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture DOC production zone, Re Manfredi’s location offers an unusual microclimate at the foot of Mount Vulture: fabulous light, a continental climate and soils rich in clay, calcium, nitrogen and tuff, mixed together with the now extinct volcano’s lava. The 120 hectares of vineyards are almost entirely cultivated with Aglianico vines.
