Kellerei St Pauls, Plötzner Pinot Bianco 2020
Alto Adige – Italy

Decanter World Wine Awards 2021 – Silver Medal / 90 points
Wine Advocate – 91 points
James Suckling – 90 points

An impressive Pinot Bianco offering a complex aroma spectrum including green apple, pears and peaches, along with fine citrus, floral hints and almond. The palate is elegant, refreshing, fruit-driven and rich, with a slightly saline finish.

Nino Negri, Ca’Brione Bianco Alpi Retiche IGT 2019
Valtellina, Lombardy – Italy

An unusual blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Incrocio Manzoni and Nebbiolo- Chiavennasca – “Ca’Brione” has a full, intense nose with notes of elderflower and peaches that blend nicely with the toasty and yeasty hints derived from its time ageing in French oak barriques. The elegant and fresh palate is well balanced, with an attractive, creamy, exotic and stone fruit-washed finish.

Villa Carumè, Organic Nero d’Avola DOC Sicilia 2020
Sicily – Italy

Crafted by one of Italy’s most highly awarded winemakers, this is an excellent and expressive example of this indigenous grape variety.  Intense ruby red in colour with purple hues, the nose features intense aromas of ripe red fruit with delicate notes of liquorice. The palate is soft, satisfying and well-balanced. This will pair perfectly with aged cheeses, winter roasts, and autumnal hearty dishes.

Felline, Anarkos Rosso Puglia IGP 2018
Puglia – Italy

A  blend of typical regional varieties – 60% Negroamaro, 30% Primitivo and 10% Malvasia Nera – this is a richly coloured, intense and persistent red from a true Puglian protagonist. Aromas are fruit-driven, led by cherry and wild berries. The power of the fruit is balanced nicely on the palate by mature, rounded tannins and a full body. Balanced and smooth, this will pair with a range of seasonal dishes.

Orma, Passi di Orma DOC Bolgheri 2017
Bolgheri, Tuscany – Italy

James Suckling – 91 points
Wine Advocate – 90 points

This is the ‘second wine’ from Bolgheri’s Orma Estate, whose leading Super Tuscan of the same name has been described as ‘a challenger to Sassicaia and Ornellaia’ by James Suckling. A blend of 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cabernet Franc, its aromas are rich with ripe red fruits, blackberry and blueberry, mingled with coffee and liquorice. The palate is soft and balanced, with a perfect tannic structure.

DAOU Family Estates, Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Paso Robles, California – USA

Wine Advocate – 92 points
Matthew Jukes – 18+ points

‘Profound balance’, ‘delicious’, ‘in perfect harmony’ and ‘amazing’ are just some of the words Matthew Jukes used to describe this wine in his ‘Fifty Finest Wines 2020’ review. 2018 was an exceptional vintage for DAOU Family Estates in Paso Robles, and this Cabernet Sauvignon epitomises this perfectly with beautiful aromatics and silky, integrated tannins. The finish is surprisingly elegant for a wine of such power.
