INTRODUCTION

With close to 90 different appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs, and is one of the most historic domaines in Burgundy. The estate has been family-owned and run by the Drouhin family for the last 140 years , and they have adopted a natural-focused, biodynamic approach, to show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine and the environment. Maceration and vinification lasted 2-3 weeks and indigenous yeast was used. Aged in 20% new French oak for 14-18 months.

TASTING NOTES

Deep red colour. The aromas are powerful and elegant, with notes of cherry and blackberry, as well as hints of cedar wood evolving towards gamey touches. On the palate: beautiful balance between structure and softness. The long aftertaste is reminiscent of fruit syrups and mild spices.
