Welcome to the team!

We are excited to have welcomed two new members to the C&C wines team in the last couple of months as part of our ongoing expansion. You may have already had the chance to meet them in person or over the phone/email, but if not we are delighted to introduce you to them…

Fabio Arcari – Executive Director

Fabio came on board with us at the start of March, bringing with him his wealth of experience in the industry. Fine wine and fast cars are his passions, and when he’s not busy meeting customers in the trade or drinking wine you’ll find him driving or fixing his classic car (always Italian, both the wine and the cars). Sangiovese in general and a GREAT Chianti Classico are his wine winners – Villa Trasqua Chianti Classico really hits the button for him.

Rodrigo Ferreira – Stock & Logistics Controller

Rodrigo joined us in April to take care of all things logistics and stock control at C&C Wines. Outside of the office you’ll find him spending quality time with his family, having his heart broken by his football club (Manchester United), or going for a kick too when he has the time. He likes to unwind with a good dram of Whisky, or a glass of his favourite style of wine – Portuguese Tinto (and specifically Esporao Quatro Castas 2017).

Our Producers & Wines in the Press

  • After trying their wines at the California Wines Press Tasting in March, Wayne de Nicolo selected both the DAOU Reserve Chardonnay 2019 and Soul of a Lion 2018 as two of his top 12 California Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons in The Resident.

  • In the April issue of Decanter the Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 and the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 were recommended in the California Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 and 2018 Panel Tasting.

  • DAOU has also partnered with Harrods to create its first own-label Californian Cabernet Sauvignon, which is now available for sale, as reported by The Drinks Business.

  • The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 was included in The Wine Merchant California Collection 2022 – an annual collation of 50 top Californian wines as judged by independent merchants themselves.

Our Italian Producers

  • In the May issue of DecanterVilla Trasqua’s Nerento 2012 and 2013 were both highly recommended and received 93 and 91 points respectively in the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Tasting Panel.

  • In the same issue’s Valpolicella Tasting Panel, Tenuta Sant’Antonio’s La Bandina Valpolicella Superiore 2018 was the highest scoring wine in the ‘Highly Recommended’ category, receiving 93 points, and the Nanfrè Valpolicella 2020 was recommended with 88 points.

Welcome to our portfolio!

In case you missed our last email newsletters, over the previous month we have welcomed two new exclusive agencies to our portfolio, from Spain and Italy: the new highly acclaimed single-vineyard Rioja project Viñedos de Sonsierra – Viñedos Singulares, from Tim Atkin’s 2022, 2021 and 2019 Rioja Cooperative of the Year and the highly critically acclaimed Campania producer Tenuta Scuotto, who in the words of Wine Spectator is “pushing the boundaries of Fiano”.
