Lilium Est, Latin for lily, is Tenuta Sant’Antonio’s most intriguing wine due to its depth of aromas and flavors. It truly can be defined as a “meditation” wine. To be drunk with mindfulness and appreciation, exploring the wealth of sensory stimulus it has to offer.
Lilium Est is Inky ruby red. Its aroma is very intense, full and fine. Balsamic and almost iodine like notes can be appreciated immediately, conveyed by the notable alcoholic strength. These then give way to the characteristic aroma of ripe cherries, plums, small woodland berries, followed by spicy aromas of star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, vanilla and ginger. Finally, there are tertiary aromas of cocoa, chocolate, tar, toasted hazelnuts and pipe tobacco. On the palate it is dry, warm and soft, well supported by a notable acidity, richness of flavor and well rounded tannins. Very persistent and fine balance.
