Sordo Barolo Parussi DOCG 2007

INTRODUCTION

This charming vineyard is to be found in a lovely natural amphitheatre on the hill sloping down from Castiglione Falletto to the road to Alba. The vineyard is best known as the Sorito della Sera because of its excellent exposure with many hours of daylight which allows the grapes to reach perfect maturity. Barolo Riserva matures in big, traditional Slavonian oak barrels for 36 months and is followed by further ageing in the bottle – as long as possible – before release. A long maceration using the submerged-cap method is the basis for producing produce our Riserva in the tradition of the great masters of Barolo.

TASTING NOTE

The colour is a magnificent garnet red. Its intensity and great alcohol content create dense tears on the side of the glass. Perfumes are ethereal, abundant and lingering. The sensations remind mint, sage and sweet spices. In the mouth it reveals great elegance and balance given by its warmth together with its unique complexity. Tannins are evident but smooth, while the acidity and the flavours are well-balanced – for these reason the Parussi is suitable for long ageing.
