Abelha Organic Cachaça is made in the highlands of Bahia where locally grown organic sugar cane is fermented with natural yeast and distilled in small copper pots, or alambiques. This gives Abelha a characteristic aromatic nose. It is produced in an ultra traditional manner, with everything being done carefully, by hand, in a lengthy production process which results in a remarkable fullness of flavour. Abelha Cachaça is also produced ethically, by a group of small-holding farmers who are paid a fair price for their product. The mouth-feel is unctuous and creamy with an underlying fruitiness and an ethereal complexity.
