Project Description

A6mani was founded in 2011 by three cousins that come from two Puglian grape grower families. The cousins, all ladies: Maria Cavallo, Elise Clerfeuille and Francesca Cavallo, set out with one clear objective – to create wines from indigenous varietals whilst preserving regional traditions, in turn expressing Puglia, specifically Salento’s, true potential.

The namesake of the company, six hands, comes from the three cousins the founded the venture and the singular passion that unites them. In Salento, the red earth made of clay and limestone follows the rhythm of the rock layers below, covers the stone and, in a way, makes it fertile. The climate is mild – except for the torrid days of the summer months-, the availability of water is very low, but regenerating winds blow from the nearby coast. An extraordinary balance, a prerequisite for quality viticulture in this region. a6mani produce wines from native vine-varieties, in the heart of the d.o.c. Primitivo di Manduria.
